Today (Aug 8), we were assigned to do a reading activity. In the Dragon Ball book, Bulma had a motorbike and her own house in the adventure. She brought it all by bringing this case with 12 capsules in it. each capsule had an item of her choice that she could use in order to help her with her adventure. Which is why we had to choose what would be in each capsule for the activity.

The 12 I chose for it were a notebook, camera, food and water, book, house, phone, weapon, medicine, bike, money, umbrella and more capsules.  The notebook was for taking notes and drawing when i’m bored. A camera so that I could take photos of interesting things. The food and water for hunger and in case i’m dehydrated. The book for entertainment. A house to stop and rest anywhere and other stuff. A phone in case I get lost and so I could access a map at any time. A weapon for defense when there might be a wild creature or others. Medicine for just in case I get sick. Bike for transportation. Money just In case I find a shop that has something I need. An umbrella for keeping dry in the rain. Then even more capsules for keeping extra stuff such as rare plants I find on the way, etc. It was really fun doing the activity. The hard part was trying to figure out which items to swap out with other more useful stuff (which is another reason I chose more capsules).

This morning, room 7 and 8 went to Due Drop Center (Manukau) to watch the movie Tina. I had to wake up early since we had to reach school by 7:45. Looking back, I think I should’ve woken up earlier because I was still a few minutes late.

When we entered the bus, me, Ruzzel and Samantha decided to sit together. The ride there was long. Ruzzel mentioned it was an hour, but I think it was 38-45 minutes. Perhaps it was because we made some jokes to help pass the time. Samantha said that in order to perfect vegan water was to cook pork, chicken and beef on low heat and then add it to the water. It’s like one of those jokes that are so dry that they’re funny. We were trying not to laugh loo loud since we were told to remain quiet. Even though it wasn’t really quiet in the first place.

We had finally reached the center. We were required to sit on the ground in two lines. A while later, the other school came and we entered the center. The wait for the movie was really long, so me and Ruzzel got really bored. I guess the movie was worth the wait, though.

The movie had finally started. Some people from the other school brought some snacks and it made me quite hungry. At first, the movie was. The main character (Tina), had lost her daughter due to a massive earthquake. 3 Years later, Tina was trying to get a job as a teacher. The people said no because they were racist. Until they saw Tina helping a girl (Sophie) with her piano. Tina wanted to start a choir. Only one person agreed with it. She listened to that one person. The students in the choir despised it. They found it really boring and strict. The more they stayed in the choir, the more they realized that it wasn’t so bad after all. So, Tina said they would sign up for a singing competition. On the day of the competition, they had unfortunately lost Tina as she died of cancer. It was really sad. I was surrounded by people who were crying. It’s a really nice movie, I enjoyed watching it.

For New Zealand Music month, we were able to choose our own artist. I chose Rose, she’s a member of Black pink. Most of us used a template that asked us questions to answer and put in our presentations.

  Rose was actually born in New Zealand, Auckland. Yet, her parents were still Korean. When she was a kid, she was raised in Australia, Melbourne. She stayed in Australia from the age of seven to sixteen. Which is approximately nine years. She moved to Korea, Seoul to try and start her music career at the age of 16.

   Rose showed an interest in music when she was young. Which led her to audition for YG Entertainment. She can play the piano and has been seen playing it by some of her fans. She can play a guitar and is currently trying to learn the drums. Based on one of her videos, she has mentioned taking drum lessons.

  First, It was Jennie who started the group, then Lisa. Soon later, Jisoo joined then Rose joined after her. Roses 1st most popular songs is “APT”, which was a collab she did with Bruno Mars. Her 2nd most popular song is “How You Like That” which got about 1,139,752,943 streams. 

  Rose really enjoys making pop and k-pop music. The other members of Blackpink (Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa) also enjoy making k-pop music. She has won multiple awards for her music. Such as 2 Asian Artist of the Years, 2 Kids Choice Award and a lot more. 

I really like Rose’s music as it gets stuck in my head, even though I don’t really like K-pop. She’s my favourite k-pop artist. Who’s your favourite NZ artist?

  The nearby park was silent that night.“Hmm..strange..”Minori said to herself. Yet, she didn’t care. Strange things always happened to her anyways, she was used to it at this point.  As she was slowly pushing herself on the swing, while planning her revenge on her parents. She did that all the time, but never actually did it. Minori’s parents never really cared for her. Her dad was an alcoholic and her mom was like the parasite of their family. She would even get Minori’s savings and say “It’s for work”but it really was for work, was it? 

  Minori stopped thinking, she felt like something was constantly watching her… She looked around and saw this tall, red-eyed creature with a long, crooked neck with a sharp bone sticking out of it. It was slowly creeping its head out from behind a tree. It didn’t even think enough to hide in a less obvious tree, Minori found it in almost an instant. Her vision went dark then back to normal again. Then again, and again, and again. Minori noticed that this strange creature was slowly but surely creeping up closer and closer.. Minori sprinted to her house. She sprinted faster than she ever had before. 

  Minori finally reached her house after sprinting so fast that she was almost out of breath. She slammed and quickly struggled to lock the door. She was looking around calling for anyone if at least someone was here. The creature started banging on the door. Minori called the police “the number you have dialed cannot come to the phone right now, please call later”. She panicked and looked out the window. No noise. No one else was in that world with her, except for that creature…

Two days ago, we were doing some word art on WordArt.com.  It’s kind of hard to figure out to use it, but luckily my friend Thalia helped me. First, you had to pick words for the word art. We had to pick ten. The words I chose were anxious, intimidated, petrified, hysterical, terrified, apprehensive, unwell, jittery, stressed and panicky. Secondly, press visualize and chose a shape. I chose the shape of  a girl since that’s what Lucy is. Third, choose the colors. I chose mint green, white and dark blue and that’s it.

For my Passion Project, I chose the topic “Frogs”. I chose the topic frogs because I don’t know much about Frogs. A Passion Project is a google slide that you make. The topic on the slide has to be something that you take passion of.

One species I added in my Passion project was the poison Dart Frog. Unlike most frogs, the Poison Dart Frog has difficulty swimming without webbed feet. Their poison is strong enough to kill a human in an instant (that was a bit dark sorry). They live up to 10 to 15 years. Dart frog’s can grow from 1.5 centimeters to 6 centimeters. They typically jump up around a few inches off the ground. They eat many small insects such as fruit flies, small beetles, etc. This Dart Frog is found in the rain forests of Central and South America.

Another species I researched about is the Morelet’s Tree Frog. also known as the Black Eyed Tree Frog. The Morelet’s Tree Frog can grow up to 5.5 to 8.5 centimeters. They can jump up to 5 feet high on average. They are found in Mexico, El Salvador and more. This tree frog can live up to 5-10 years on an average. The Morelet’s frog usually eats small insects like spiders. When this frog is threatened, It inflates itself to appear larger to predators.

In my opinion, one of the best animals is the Arctic Fox. They habitat in countries such as Canada, Alaska, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, and other arctic islands. They eat birds, lemmings and squirrels. They have white fur in winter, and brown fur in summer. They have tails that grow up to 12 inches. last week for Cybersmart, we typed in our name on a Google slide and animated it. I made the name and the two frogs fade in when clicked. I also made them spin when clicked again. It was really fun seeing all the different types of animations. here is mine:
